Mãos à Terra arrives in Rio Grande do Sul

On 27 February, Mãos à Terra had its first public screening in Rio Grande do Sul. The screening took place in Barra do Ouro, Maquiné, as part of the programme for Adentro – Mostra de Cinema Itinerante Interiorano.
The event was attended by Ananda Rafinha, a pioneer of the Community Pharmacies and a key figure in the Peasant Women’s Movement, and Chief Júlia Gimenes, a Mbyá-Guarani leader from the Guyra Nhendu tekoa in Maquiné.
Following the screening, the discussion brought together the filmmakers Sérgio Guidoux, Bruna Giuliatti and Dani Eizirik, as well as Ricardo Hattori, a farmer and member of FAE, and Nelson Bellé, one of the founders of the Ecological Farmers’ Market and currently head of the Ecological Centre.
On the morning of that same day, an educational session was also held at the Maquiné Town Council for secondary school pupils from the Hilário Ribeiro School, followed by an inspiring debate with the pupils.
